Do you know if it is supported to run 1GHz PA-8800 and PA-8900 cpu's in a rp4400 at the same time?

Re: PA-8800 and PA-8900 in the same machine?
If you install the PA-8900 in this server type, the system firmware will "flip a bit" to address the PA-8900 CPU type. Things will work fine. However, you cannot just go back and install the PA-8800 CPU if you need to as this "bit flip" is persistant and the system will not boot up due to the now incompatible CPU.

Re: PA-8800 and PA-8900 in the same machine?
However, it is still a fact you cannot mix the CPUs.
Hope this helps!

Torsten.
