Re: RP7420 Boot Issue

This is possibly hardware problem, you should open a case to HP.

From the du output, i undestand that you have only one cell(this is cell1, cell0 is absent?). PS output of cell1 shows core cell as invalid, this means that there can be a problem with the IO Chassis. In the logs there are some errors about IO subsytem:

Re: RP7420 Boot Issue

The rp7420, like the 7410, cell 1 is the 'monarch' cell, (at least in my experience.)

Cen you post the o/p of the MP:CM>ps?

Ron

Re: RP7420 Boot Issue

The partition is now waiting at the BIB state, and for you to clear the flag before proceeding with the boot up. To clear the BIB
select "y" to use on "use-on-next-boot".

From the EFI shell use 'cellconfig' command to set the use-on-next-boot parameter and unflag the BIB

"...To change the use-on-next-boot value for a cell, issue the following command:

CELLCONFIG cell [ON|OFF]

where cell is the cell number, ON sets the cell use-on-next-boot value to "y" (yes, do use the cell), or OFF sets the cell use-on-next-boot value to "n" (no, do not use the cell). A cell that boots with a "y" (ON) use-on-next-boot value is permitted to rendezvous and...

Re: RP7420 Boot Issue

Hey Ron

Thanks for your Suggestion.

I have already attached the o/p of several commands in the attachemnt you can check the PS O/P There.

More suggestions welcome.

@ Michael

Thanks you Michael for your sugestion but unfortunately I don't get anything on Live Console & Hence can't get the EFI Shell either.

Please suggest how can I get that Active Console to try out these steps.

Thanks again both of you.

Re: RP7420 Boot Issue

????? Can't get to a live console ???? What happens when you plug in a laptop or PC to the MP console switch???? I don't get it. Your a datacenter so there should be a roll top table with a dedicated PC just for this kind of problem.
