Have a RP8400 that had a problem with the remote console hung. One BPS in flashing yellow, it was replaced.
After powering server down, removing all A/C power, letting it discharge and re-apply A/C power to remove hung console.
Attempt to power up via front switch, all BPS solid green, but no lights on any PCI power supplies PCI backplane remains dark.
Replaced both PCI power supplies, replaced both VRM's on PCI backplane.
I'm wondering if one or both MP cards are bad. Or backplane has failed to allow power to trigger PCI power supplies.
Can anyone assist?
PE command local console does nothing.

SolutionRESOLVED:
After replacing the PCI cage, both PCI Power Supplies came up, MP I/O cards now responding.
Backplane was also replaced prior to PCI cage with no change.
PCI cage was root cause for both PCI power supplies and PCI cage itself to power up and also resolved both MP I/O cards from not responding to one becoming active and now have console access.
All looks good and server now in RUN.
