Re: SOURCE: 8 = I/O

It looks like an error is coming from the i/o sybsystem. If you hit "a" to acknowledge the error does it continue and boot up? It may complete booting and have i/o errors or most likely it will start loading the OS and crash.

If you have i/o cards installed, pull them out to see if one of them might be causing this. Otherwise the error is probably deep in the system board and your have a serious hardware issue.

Re: SOURCE: 8 = I/O

You can try to access the VFP from the GSP> prompt. If the system is halting during POST this may help determine where.

If POST is completing, try to access the console as suggested. Can you acknowledge the alerts and get the BCH Main Menu?

You can also review the console logs (CL command) to see if anything is being shown on the console that these alerts are hiding.

Re: SOURCE: 8 = I/O

Agreed. You have an I/O adapter failure in one of the LBA I/O slots.

As stated above you can try to pull/isolate all PCI controllers until the issue is resolved. If the system crashed and you can get it back up, look in the Chassis Code error log(s) (cclogview or STM logtool) for more information.
