Re: Unable to boot hp9000 r390/1

MY approach would be :
1. Go to isl and do sea ipl check what all disks it is showing which are capable of booting and try to boot from those disks
2.Find if it has mirroed disk in vg00, if yes then go to isl and try booting from mirror copy
3. If doesn't work and you have physical access to the server then shutdown the server reseat the disks and try again
4. do you have internal disks for root vg if not and you have something like hash box check connection power off it power on and then power on the server and check
5. if none of these are working then I believe either you have bad root disks or some connectivity issue with the disks or some other HW issue then its better to log a call with HP.

Re: Unable to boot hp9000 r390/1

use to lvm maintenance mode with CAUTION investigate the LVM failure:

ISL> hpux -lm (;0)/stand/vmunix

Re: Unable to boot hp9000 r390/1

You can do one thing . disconnect all your san cables one by one from the server try to boot your server . once the system will become up connect your cables again . but before that you need to check if your cables are perfectly labeled or not . By doing so you will get to know that which path is giving the problem .

I faced this problem so many times and everytime I am successful to resolve this issue.
