changing ip-address from C-class to B-class
Hi !
Having exceeded the max. n^ of hosts allowed by C-class addresses we have decided to migrate to B-class addresses.
We have a unix server hp-9000 D310 with o.s. hp-ux 10.20, we actually use it as a NIS server.
Is it right to change only the server's IP-address and then those of the clients (after updating the file /etc/hosts) or we have to check or do something else?
Thanks in advance
Gianni

Re: changing ip-address from C-class to B-class
You can use subnetting but you have to specify the right gateways to each subnets on both sides when using two cards and enable ip routing/forwarding.
Or on the other hand, you can group your clients under class B and leave your servers in class C.
