when i try to connect the server through one xp client machine with the hp server.
its showing connected.
but its not showing anything...

SolutionConnect with a null modem to the port named console. It is labeled on the hardware.
The hyperterminal defaults should work find.
procomm plus works a little more easily than hyperterminal.

A monitor's image is constantly refreshed by the display controller: if you have something on screen, switch the monitor off and then back on, the image will still appear on screen.
A terminal gets new data only when something is actually changing on the terminal's display. If you switch off and on a serial-connected terminal, its display will remain blank until you do something that causes new output to be sent to the terminal. A serial-connected terminal emulator software will behave just the same.
Select the hyperterminal window, then press Enter once or twice. Does a login prompt appear?

putty is great you don=t need to set speed it will be automatically working.
