Re: how to de-activate processors on a N class machine

Hi Dhruva,

You can make use of the HP-UX WLM(Workload Manager).
Check the following link -
http://h20338.www2.hp.com/enterprise/w1/en//os/hpux11i-wlm-overview.html
-> HP-UX Workload Manager (WLM) ├в overview and features
http://h20338.www2.hp.com/hpux11i/downloads/wlm.gettingstarted.pdf
-> Getting started with HP-UX Workload Manager

Hope this helps.

Re: how to de-activate processors on a N class machine

Hi Dhruva,

Also, check the cpuconfig command in the EFI shell.

Shell> cpuconfig
...
-> displays current CPU configuration

Shell> cpuconfig [cpu-number] [on|off]
-> Turn on/off CPU's

EFI isn't there for old PA systems.

You can disable the CPU in boot menu:

Configuration Menu: Enter command > cpu 8 off

Hope this helps!

Hi,
As said by Torsten, you can disable the cpu's from the boot menu. before that go to the Information menu and check the CPU numbers.
