Re: mp console problem
Cycle power?
Are you using cabling / connectors and a terminal emulator that is know to work for a comparable system?
Did you try 9600 baud first, and some other speeds after that? Any echo?
Tried using the MAC address to talk to the system? In Windoze, use "ARP -s inet_addr eth_addr" to give it an ip address?
What 'system', which connector,...
Hein.

Re: mp console problem
I am thinking you are connecting to the Serial console via the serial cable.
Make sure you are using the correct & functional cable, Have seen that people use some kinda serial cable from the market and endup with no connection.
make sure you have set the baud to 9600 and you are using hyperterm with a VT100 terminal, if connecting via the laptop/windoze .

Re: mp console problem
ok, give us a clue? which systemm are you talking about? which model?
once connected to local serial console port, if settings are correct for terminal then issue control b key sequence
this should get you to at least the MP.
is the system up and running at least? in hpux or just idle?
