problem about usb of rx4640

I found that the usb status of ioscan is unclaimed
root(rt1)# ioscan -fnC usb
Class I H/W Path Driver S/W State H/W Type Description
=================================================================
usb 0 0/0/2/0 hcd UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN USB OHCI Interface
usb 1 0/0/2/1 hcd UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN USB OHCI Interface

the usb device is not found in EFI,so i can not use mouse and keyboard
in SAM kernel configration, moduls, the state of usb device is unused, but ican not change the state to static.
i wonder need I replace the IO base board!

Re: problem about usb of rx4640

Unclaimed means the OS was able to "probe" the device but there was no driver in the kernel willing to claim it. To that extent at least it means the devices are OK, and does not suggest you need to replace any boards in the system.

Of course if EFI doesn't claim them, and the OS doesn't claim them, it could be they are just "random" USB keyboard and mouse that the drivers do not claim. The drivers may only claim the devices actually "supported" on the system, which in theory would be listed under "Options and Accessories" when you go to http://www.hp.com/go/rx4640

Re: problem about usb of rx4640

Do you mean you cannot see the mouse and keyboard in the EFI devices or devtree command outputs? Here is an example of devtree output.

Ctrl[1A] Usb Open Host Controller
Ctrl[3A] Generic Usb Keyboard
Ctrl[36] Primary Console Input Device
Ctrl[1B] Usb Open Host Controller
Ctrl[3B] Generic Usb Mouse

If your USB devices are Non-HP products, they may not work. Try some USB stick falsh to see if it will be recognized.
