"ORA-00600: internal error code" Physical memory problem?

We are getting the following Oracle errors in our V-class machine:

ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [17112], [105030200], [], [], [], [], [], []

Information from Oracle Metalink mentions (among other things) about memory corruption. So, in order to see if we are having any physical memory errors, I ran the following command:

# echo 'selclass qualifier memory;info;wait;infolog' | cstm

At the end of the output I see:

...
Memory Error Log Summary

The memory error log is empty.

Which suggests there is no physical memory problem on the system. Is my assumption correct?

Hi

ORA-00600 is quite generic, you probably have other error codes/messages before or after in the alert log file
cf Metalink Note:146580.1 "What is an ORA-600 Internal Error?"

Hi there.
What Oarcle version are we talking about ?
Did you install all necessary patches from HP mentioned in the Install and Upgrade docs from Oracle ? Pls check this and post the result. We are running Oracle 8.0.5, 8.1.7 and 9.2.0.6 on a V2500.
Did you report the errors to Oracle ( open a TAR ) ?

Re: "ORA-00600: internal error code" Physical memory problem?

Thank you for your replies.

My primary question was this:

By using the mentioned cstm command and inspecting the output, can I be sure that there is no physical memory problem on the system?

About the Oracle questions:

We are using Oracle 8.1.7 on HP-UX 11.00 (V2600 system) and all necessary and many more patches are installed. This Oracle installation is quite old, but closely administered (because it is our main production database!). Also HP-UX is periodically patched with the HP recommended patches.

The Oracle error messages in the alert log are like this:

Wed Oct 5 02:27:48 2005
Errors in file /disk3/app/oracle/admin/DBABP/udump/ora_15380_dbabp.trc:
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [17112], [105030200], [], [], [], [], [], []

And the associated trace file starts with the following lines:

Dump file /disk3/app/oracle/admin/DBABP/udump/ora_15380_dbabp.trc
