Re: rp 7420 Upgrade

Upgrading memory and prcessor doesn't need any docs actually. you may log a case to HP support center if you suspect any issue.

Re: rp 7420 Upgrade

Hi Vinay,

As long as you have free slots on cell, you can upgrade the CPU/Memory. Only thing you need to pay to HP. HP may ask you to provide the part numbers.

CSTM output will have all the details which HP may require.

Involve HP and they will help you in all the ways.
Best wishes,

Ganesh.

Re: rp 7420 Upgrade

Hi,

It seems current cellboard has dual core CPUs so you need to one more dual core CPU.

Memory Loading Rules are :
Memory must be installed in pairs of 2 Dimms (2Dimms = 1Rank).

Dimm sizes are 512MB, 1GB, 2GB

start with largest Dimms and end with the smallest

begin with slots 0a/0b, continue then with 1a/1b, 2a/2b, 3a,3b ... 7a/7b

Please log a Case With HP response centre for more details

Re: rp 7420 Upgrade

Hello Vinayan,

No need to pay HP to do this. As long as you have space available in your cell board, which it appears you do you can upgrade the CPU/Mem your self. If you need assistance in doing this I can walk you through it.

Let me know if you need assistance,
Dave
