Re: rp5430 - Server not coming up
no you cnnot, they are not compatible if you already have 650's in it.
it needs a different system board and power modules for the different cpus
can you access the logs in the GSP?
if so have a look at the system error logs and post the last 6-10 logs if you can.
you can also check teh status of the power supplies, cpu's and fans here too

Re: rp5430 - Server not coming up
You have failed power supply. Log a case with HP to get it replaced.

Re: rp5430 - Server not coming up
it looks like a power issue, either psu or the power monitor PCA
check the psu's first, physically check the green led on them and the power cords attached.
the system needs 2 power supplies to run properly

Re: rp5430 - Server not coming up
Thanks bud will try and change the power supply and try.
Hi Andy
What is PCA is this a card slotted beside the processor ??, If it is then the a heartbeat led is blinking amber !! No explanation found on web about this. 2 nos of PSU's are installed and both Led are green. tried to swap the slots and even then the led are green.
Thanks
Manoj

Re: rp5430 - Server not coming up
yes the power monitor pca is the baord that sits upright from the system board with the led's heartbeat light on
if the heartbeats on then this may be ok?cannot remember for sure but seem to think the led's should be green when powered on. amber when oof but power going through the system.
It could be the main power input unit, like this thread if the PSU are all good
http://forums13.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?admit=109447627+1240777207484+28353475&threadId=1111985
another thing i would also check is the large screws at the rear that connect the system board in onto the large gold connections. if these have a loose connection/bad connection you can prevent the system from powering on properly

Heartbeat led is Amber and blinking, but power Led is on and Green on the board.
Let me try and replace some parts and revert.

I swapped the 650Mhz proc to the slot # 2 just beside the solt # 0 and the power is on now, Led status - RUN-Flashing, ATTn-Off, Fault-Off, Remote-On Amber, Power-On Green
cannot loginto console from GSP - nothing happens after this.
Help is most apprecialble.!
