Hey all, I have an rp7420 in a test environment. It is an rp7420, with one cell board which has one AB537A processor. It has one MP.
This machine has worked fine for the better part of 2 years, we test memory and cpus for production boxes before use.
The problem I am having is, after about a week or two of the machine being powered down I went to test some memory but the MP is coming up as Welcome to the rx7620 instead of rp7420. When powering on the cell it halts and comes up with an error.

I didn't install any Itanium procs or do any firmware upgrades or changes since the last time I used the machine.
I have tried unplugging the machine from power and letting it boot back up, that didn't work. I have tried soft resetting the Core IO from within in the MP menu. I have defaulted the MP which made no change.
Anyone have any suggestions or possible reasons why the Core IO is reporting the machine as an rx7620?

Solution
What result do you get from this
MP:CM> ps
...
T - Cabinet
S - System Backplane
G - MP (Core I/O)
P - IO Chassis
C - Cell
Select Device: c
Enter cell number: 1
...
Please post.
Hope this helps!

Re: rp7420 MP coming up as rx7620
Ok, well I have figured it out, when I ran a PS command I noticed that it was only showing the Terminator.. It looked like
CPU Module Slot 0 1 2 3
Populated T
Local 48V Good
Power Enabled
Power Good
So I powered off the cell board and reseated the cpu and it restarted the MP and came up as an RP7420 again.
Thanks for all the help!
