Getting a C3700 to run hpux 11i

I understand that a C3700 requires a PA-8700
processor board upgrade to ver 2.3. Is this a firmware upgrade? or hardware? If firmware which group, I search for PA-8700 ver2.3 and didn't find anything.

Hi Betty,

Yes this is a firmware upgrade - specifically the PDC (Processor Dependent Code). And Yes it must be 2.3 for 11i to load/function properly.
Good news is it's available straight off the 11i CD.

Hi (again) Betty,

I also found this doc & it appears to be somewhat more recent.
Note that it lists up to C3600 & if you read the earlier doc it suggests you check the current PDC firmware.
This doc gives a patch as the method to check/update the firmware & further recommends that you get as current as possible - mainly for enhanced HW support.
