Re: EMS: Event Monitoring Service

EMS is fun.

Read this thread, there are some links:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=319373

EMS monitoring can be activated in sam.

The manual in that thread contains a good guide.

Re: EMS: Event Monitoring Service

I don't know what version of HP-UX you have, so these links may not be quite right, but:

http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/B7609-90022/00/00/1-con.html

http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/B5735-90001/00/00/1-con.html

You can search docs.hp.com for information.

Re: EMS: Event Monitoring Service

Hi all.
Thank you for reply to that questions.
I have an other question.
Is it "enable" or "disable" for default setting of EMS when it is installed.
and all of devicees are monitored by EMS at first? (which means default)

Thanks.

Re: EMS: Event Monitoring Service

I do not have the answer on your last question, (but i think your right). When using EMS the next url is usefull when recieving alarms in your syslog.

Re: EMS: Event Monitoring Service

Hi,

Just one command /etc/opt/resmon/lbin/monconfig will give you a good picture on how to configure EMS. It's easy and it has a help item too. Make sure you enable only what is required. Otherwise, your root's box will become full in no time.

Have fun.

Re: EMS: Event Monitoring Service

Hi all
Thank you for helping my biginner's questions.
I've god the answer of that if my translation was wright!?

If "Diagnostics/IPR Media" was released earlier than June 1999, EMS would be "disabled" on the default, and later "enabled"!?

and all of hardware would be monitored by EMS!?

Regards.
