HP-UX 11.23 with rx8620 Itanium-1

Dear friend,

Does rx8620 Itanium-1 can be installed with HP-UX 11.23? If not what version of HP-UX 11.23 can be installed? (I read from the documents that Itanium-1 not longer supported)
And what is the different with HP-UX 11.23 with HP-UXi 11.23?

Hi Candra,

The RX8620 has Itanium 2 processors and can be installed with following OS's;

# HP UX 11i v2 and HP-UX 11i v3 operating system
# Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Datacenter and Enterprise Edition
# Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 4.0 (not supported with HP mx2 processors)
# SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 (not supported with HP mx2 processors)
# OpenVMS (V8.2 1 or higher; OpenVMS supports only Mad9 processors on rx8620)

rx8620 can be installed with HPUX 11i v2, which the latest release is HPUX 11.23

What do you mean with Itanium-1 is not longer supported?

Ok.
I read from HP Matrix, it said that Integrity server with Itanium-1 based is no longer supported.

Oh yeah my server still using Itanium-1 not the latest one(Itanium-2), that's why I asked whether my server can use HP-UX 11.23 or not.
And I cannot find any document that said Itanium-1 based server can be installed with HP-UXiv2.

If your server is realy equiped with Itanium-1 cpu's, you can NOT install 11.i V2 or 11.i V3. The only HPUX version you can install is 11.22 aka 11i V1.6.

The second option is to upgrade to Itanium 2 cpu's.
