PROBLEM

At 10.20, even though the documented limit to a login character name was 8

characters, the user was still able to login if their login name had more than

8 characters.



As of 11.00, these users with invalid logins can no longer login.CONFIGURATION

RESOLUTION

For a "workaround" to this situation, install patch PHCO_29249 (or its

replacement).



This is a workaround, because although the patch allows you to once again use

invalid login names (> 8 characters), some of the features provided by PAM are

defeated. Read the patch text very carefully, and ensure the customer does

the same.
