HP3000/TELNET
I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT EXACTLY HOW A TELNET SESSION IS ESTABLISHED ON AN HP3000 (HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE). I'VE TRIED CONTACTING HP AND MY RESELLER...IN THE MEANTIME HAVE ANY OF YOU DONE THIS.

Hello Donnie,
for a Telnet connection to the 3000 you need nothing more than a network connection and a configured and running inetd daemon.
May be the following manuals will help:

Hmmmmm...... something tells me you want more than how to get it up and running, you want the internals. For this you need some time in the library and on the net digging up the standards.
On the HP3000 the code that handles Telnet is buried in inetd.net.sys which is part of the JINETD.NET.SYS
