Hello.
I have 3PAR 7400c (4 nodes) and two cage M6720.
3PAR OS: 3.3.1.410 (MU2)+P32,P34,P36,P37,P39,P40,P41,P42,P45,P48 + Upgrade_Tool_181211.U018
VSP: 5.0.4.1-25874.
The documentation says that version 3.3.1 MU2 is the last recommended for the 3PAR 7000 series:
The last time the patches were installed on the system was in January 2019.
At the moment we need to install all the latest patches (P51, P52, P76, P80, P90, P93, P111, P113, P115, P127, P142).
What is the right way to do this?
1. Update VSP to the latest version 5.0.8.
Does it support upgrading directly from 5.0.4.1 to the latest 5.0.8 ?
2. Update Upgrade Tool on 3PAR to the latest version U039
Does it support upgrading directly from Upgrade_Tool_U018 to the latest Upgrade_Tool_U039 ?
3. Install patches (P51, P52, P76, P80, P90, P93, P111, P113, P115, P127, P142) sequentially on OS 3PAR.
Thank you in advance!
Regards.

Re: 3PAR OS and VSP update (7400c)
Hello @SNPP,
1. Update VSP to the latest version 5.0.8.
You can directly upgrade SP from any 5.x.x versions to a higher 5.x.x versions.
2. Update Upgrade Tool on 3PAR to the latest version U039
The upgrade tool doesn't have any intermediate version dependency. You can upgrade directly from U018 to U039
3. Install patches (P51, P52, P76, P80, P90, P93, P111, P113, P115, P127, P142) sequentially on OS 3PAR.
Please install the patches in the same order you listed here (Numbers lower to higher).
Regards,
Srinivas Bhat

SolutionSorry for the delay, I was sick.
I have successfully updated the system.
1. I updated the service processor from the version 5.0.4.1-25874 to 5.0.8.0-28527.
After the service processor found a new version 5.0.9.0-28923, which was successfully downloaded and installed.
Also, the service processor found the necessary updates for the system (P52, P111, P115, P142, P157, OS-4.2.0.21-U039 (210818.U039)).
The update OS-4.2.0.21-U039 (210818.U039) was installed automatically.
2. Installed HPESSMC-3.8.0.0.330-HyperV_Appliance on the server. Updated to version 3.8.1.0.33.
Migrated settings from the old version SSMC 3.3.1.25068.
After successful migration of settings I deleted old SSMC 3.3.1.25068 from the workstation.
3. Read the release note for patch 52 and found that it requires patch P51.
My system does not have this patch and the service processor does not offer its installation.
But I have patch P39 installed on my system. This patch is for File Persona 1.5.1.900-20180914 (P39).
It turned out that you need to install patch P80 instead of P51. Patch P80 includes P51, P76.
The release notes of the P51 patch says:
IMPORTANT: Do not install this patch on arrays where the File Persona component version is 1.5, and File Persona is in use with File Provisioning Groups configured for Remote Copy. For those systems, wait for an upcoming File Persona patch, which will include Patch 51.
The patches were installed in the following sequence: P80, P52, P111, P115, P142, P157.
After a successful update, I have such a system:
3PAR - 3.3.1.410 (MU2)+P32,P34,P40,P45,P51,P52,P76,P80,P90,P93,P96,P111,P113,P115,P127,P142,P157
VSP - 5.0.9.0-28923
SSMC - 3.8.1.0.33
Thanks!
