Re: 3PAR Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Support
Not that I know of. StoreServ knows how to shut itself down while on its batteries.
Not unless the UPS can talk SMI-S to the array?

Re: 3PAR Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Support
You can Install the UPS Agent on a Windows OS and start a SSH Script to Shutdown the Array.
But it is Dangerous: Never Shut Down the Array before all the attached Servers are Down.
So, the best is not to Shut Down the Array.
Or your Script check if all the Hosts are Down.

Re: 3PAR Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Support
Why you say Dangerous: Never Shut Down
-one reason, cached data in up server, they are lost
- you have another reason for dangerous?

Re: 3PAR Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Support
Yeah, if you run the script accidently for any reason, all your servers may be up, but the array shuts down ...
IMHO shutdown the servers is enough, they will flush the cache and leave the array idle without anything in cache.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
