3PAR VSS Provider for Microsoft Windows x64

Installing  HPE 3PAR vss hardware provider for Microsoft Windows x64, Version 2.5.1. on install process rescue me store system, user, password. I obtain an error:

Could not open connection to cli server process on "name_sotorage":

Sockect connection timed out to port 2550 on name_storage

System name or  port may be invalid, or the process may not have stgarte yet or may have failed.

Any Idea?

Can you ping that name?

Have you tried ssh access to the array?

ssh user@name_storage

Hi

if you install VSS provider from VSS kit you need to install 3PAR CLI

the best way is to do the installation from recovery manager for exchange or SQL then all the prerequisite

are installed and don't install the recovery manager in the end.

This error is misleading.

The non secure TCP  ports are disabled on the 3PAR storeserv.

Contact HP support and ask them to open the ports 5782 & 5783 on SToreserv. This will solve the error you seen.
