3Par 7200 Loss sync
Our 3Par 7200 shows two ports as loss sync. As it is SAS type does it mean it lost connection to disks?

Re: 3Par 7200 Loss sync
If I look to the Picture to one of your other Posts, there is no Cable connected to Port DP-2.
No Cable -> No Link
You shoot up a lot of Posts.
It would be a good idea to attend a training or to read the manuals.

Re: 3Par 7200 Loss sync
Thanks for reply,
Labels is comments, so maybe it's not important.
Documentation:
Slot 0 = SAS ports Slot 1 = Onboard fiber channel ports Slot 2 = PCI HBA ports Slot 3 = RCIP port
If slot0 is 2x6 Gb SAS 4-Wide expansion ports, then both of them would be loss sync?

Re: 3Par 7200 Loss sync for SAS ports
What does showcage show? Do you have anything connected to 0:0:2 and 1:0:2?
I.e. do you have at least two cages?
Your showport for those two ports indicates they are "free".

Re: 3Par 7200 Loss sync for SAS ports
Here are more info.
The question that comes up is why it is loss sync instead of offline. And host type ports have partners, so how to do that FailoverState would change from none?

Re: 3Par 7200 Loss sync for SAS ports
There are FC, IP and SAS Ports.
Do not compare the State description of different Types of Ports.
The SAS Ports have no Partner.

Re: 3Par 7200 Loss sync for SAS ports
Would it make you more at ease if I show you an output from two different 3PARs I have in my lab. One is a 7200(3par1) with no extra cages, just the node cage0. The other is an 8400(3par2) with one extra cage so cages 0 and 1. Cage 1 connects to DP2.

I'm not sure SAS ports can be "offline"? In any case the port says "free".
Unfortunately SAS isn't mentioned at all under "clihelp -col showport". :-(
@Noss205 Would it make you more at ease if I show you an output from two different 3PARs
(Next time paste text and not attach pictures. I can't grep or cut text out of them.)
They just show the same thing. If the SAS port isn't connected to a cage, then it is "free".
@Cali SAS Ports have no Partner.
They kind of do. :-) The corresponding port on the node pair. Each cage has two IOMs.
