Re: 3Par 7400-4Node Direct Connect (Direct Attach) with FlexFabric-20/40 F8
Hi Torsten,
Thank you ,but this document doesn't show the connectivity between the Flex fabric ports and the storage controllers
(Example Port X1 Bay 1 connected to Controller 0 port 1) as this what i need in detailed description :)
the other documents that i found like FC Cookbook says that the connecvitivy goes in a cross match.

Re: 3Par 7400-4Node Direct Connect (Direct Attach) with FlexFabric-20/40 F8
Hi ,
Thank you for the screenshots and for the senario 6 of the FC Cookbook, it helped me when connecting the cable to controllers and the Blade enclosures , i forgot to mention that there is a FC PCI four ports in each Conroller , so i did the following cabling
connecting cont 0 PCI Port 1 to ENC1Bay 1 Port X1
connecting cont 0 PCI Port 2 to ENC1 Bay 2 Port X1
connecting cont 0 PCI Port 3 to ENC2 Bay 1 Port X1
connecting cont 0 PCI Port 4 to ENC2 Bay 2 Port X1
connecting cont 1 PCI Port 1 to ENC1 Bay1 Port X2
connecting cont 1 PCI Port 2 to ENC1 Bay2 Port X2
connecting cont 1 PCI Port 3 to ENC2 Bay1 Port X2
connecting cont 1 PCI Port 4 to ENC2 Bay2 Port X2
connecting cont 2 PCI Port 1to ENC1 Bay 1 Port X3
connecting cont 2 PCI Port 2 to ENC1 Bay2 Port X3
connecting cont 2 PCI Port 3 to ENC2 Bay1 Port X3
connecting cont 2 PCI Port 4 to ENC2 Bay2 Port X3
connecting cont 3 PCI Port 1 to ENC1 Bay1 Port X4
connecting cont 3 PCI Port 2 to ENC1 Bay2 Port X4
connecting cont 3 PCI Port 3 to ENC2 Bay1 Port X4
connecting cont 3 PCI Port 4 to ENC2 Bay2 Port X4
Please corecct me if i'm wrong :)

Re: 3Par 7400-4Node Direct Connect (Direct Attach) with FlexFabric-20/40 F8
Hi Gammal....
Did your setup as you indicated in your diagram work ok? A customer has two new c7000's that will be stacked together - and would like to direct connect his FlexFabric 20/40 F8 modules (4 modules - Bay1 and 2 in each enclosure - like your diagram) - to his 3PAR 7400 4N system. Please let me know if this layout was go or no/go... Many thanks...

Re: 3Par 7400-4Node Direct Connect (Direct Attach) with FlexFabric-20/40 F8
Hi Jazzman,
The setup worked just fine :) ,
for you inquiry i didn't stack the enclosures because i'm using HP Oneview as it doesn't support multiple enclosure stacking , also please note that the stacking is only for Ethernet networks only not for storage connectivity .
Thank you
