3par system reporter error
Hi all,
I have an issue when using system reporter. System reporter can't connect to inserv (3par 10800) with log "Could not open connection to CLI server process on "3par_inserv_ip": Socket connection failed to port 2540 on 3par_inserv_ip: connection timed outSystem name or port may be invalid, or the process may not have started yet".
System reporter: version 3.1 MU1
3par inserv: OS version 3.1.2 MU2
Now CLI use port 5782/5783 to connect inserv, but in System reporter log, port 2540 is used.
Not see MgmtOldPorts parameter when use command "showsys -param"
any ideals to fix it?
Thanks alot !

Re: 3PAR System Reporter error
Are you using the on node System Reporter? (It doesn't seem like it.)
>Now CLI use port 5782/5783 to connect Inserv, but in System Reporter log, port 2540 is used.
It probably only mentions the obsolete 2540 since the 5782/5783 one isn't working.
Can you use the CLI directly?

Any reason you aren't using the on node System Report CLI commands?
Or not using the latest 3.1.2 version?

Re: 3PAR System Reporter error
Same issue here.
Direct access to the CLI is ok, but SysRep Logs show:
Could not open connection to CLI server process on "x.x.x.x":
Socket connection timed out to port 2550 on x.x.x.x
System name or port may be invalid, or the process may not have started yet
or may have failed.
3PAR OS is Version 3.1.3 MU1
SysRep is Version 3.1 MU1 P01
And i wonder if the SysRep Version is the latest but the only Download i can find is this.

Re: 3PAR System Reporter error
A quick look in SPOCK shows
HP 3PAR OS 3.1.3 requires at least System Reporter 3.1 MU2
HP 3PAR OS 3.2.1 requires at least System Reporter 3.1 MU3 (latest version)
I do not see a public link for System Reporter. Open a ticket with HP 3PAR Support to see about getting an updated version of System Reporter.

The array stopped listening on ports 2540 and 2550 long ago.

Re: 3PAR System Reporter error
Opened a ticket and they sent me an ftp download link to 3.1 MU3.
Let's see how this works ...
*edit*
That did the trick, as expected ...
