7200c - CPG - Adding existing Free space
Hi,
How do I add existing free space to an existing CPG (R1)
R-Click on the CPG does not seem to have the correct option.
Thanks,
Lee

Re: 7200c - CPG - Adding existing Free space
If your CPG config is correct without any disk filters, you don't need to. 3PAR will know how to take additional space into the CPG for growth. Unless you're running out of actual disk space, in that case you will need to either do some housekeeping (remove old unused VV, do space reclamation for older OS which does not support T10 unmap, etc..) or add more drives.
Take a look at these two documents for fantastic information about 3PAR technologies and best practices.

Re: 7200c - CPG - Adding existing Free space
Your CPGs should just automatically grow, unless you have added a limit to them.
You may have to use compactcpg.

Re: 7200c - CPG - Adding existing Free space
So my task will be to create a new VV from the CPG (Raid1)
The CPG says it only has 80GiB free.
When I create a 400GiB VV will this be OK as the system has 8TiB free ?

Re: 7200c - CPG - Adding existing Free space
As long as you have free space, and your CPGs are configured correctly without disk filters, then the CPG will take additional space as required to meet the growth.
See page 17 CPG automatic growth in this doc: https://www.hpe.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/4AA3-8987ENW.pdf
