After upgrade to 3.2.2, 3PAR snapshot update cause io problems to other snapshots of the same disk
Hi all,
We did a planned upgrade of 3PAR to 3.2.2. Everything works fine so far, but snapshot functionality got some issues.
We had base disk and over 10 snapshots that all mounted along with base disk on the same server for versioning purposes, a cmd file to update each of the snapshots thru ssh connection.
When one of the snapshots get updated, process can (and usually will) cause io fail of random (or semi-random) snapshots of the same disk. IO fail logged as controller error in system log and cause database software that has information on that completely different snapshot to hang. Base disk io is not affected.
The server is HP Prolian, qlogic HBA updated to the last supported firmware and drivers.
I wonder if anyone experienced something like this or know what can possible cause it or have solution.
