Can reclamation affect Adaptive Optimization

We'd been having lots of issues lately with reclaiming space on our 3PAR arrays, process running in the background is incredibly slow (it takes weeks\months to recover significant amount of space) and we're unable to get any answers from HP on how the whole process actually works.  Our worry is that our reclamation tasks might be interfering with AO schedule.  Does anyone know if reclamation tasks\activities are excluded by AO engine?

Re: Can reclamation affect Adaptive Optimization

Hi

As part of AO job "compactcpg  -trimonly"  is issued on all CPG's in AO configuration

so you only have to schedule copactcpg on CPG's that are not part of AO

Re: Can reclamation affect Adaptive Optimization

This is not 'compactcpg' question, that has to do with running Sdelete (or similar UMAP) commands and then that zeroed out space being reclaimed, you can usually view that type of activity by running following command:

showeventlog -debug -oneline -min 120 -msg reclaim

Where 120 is last 120 minutes
