    I just want to know if 10000 4x1.2TB 6G SAS 10K SFF(2.5in) Drive efficient for SQL and Exchange databses. 

Or I should use it for archiving only.

IMHO the question is much too unspecific. The 3par storeserve 10000 can have up to 8 controllers and around 2000 disks, so the "4x1.2TB 6G SAS 10K SFF(2.5in) Drive" describes a single disk magazine only. Since this is below the minimum, you need much more disks to install, depending on your array model.

We have storserve 7200 with 900 GB 10K SAS disks.

And we need to buy 2 TB disks, So is it will be efficient for SQL and Exchange databases or is it only for archiving.

Are these disks FC or NL?

What is their model # and vendor?

The "HP 3PAR StoreServ 10000 4x1.2TB 6G SAS 10K SFF" disks are in a magazine for the 3par storeserve V10x00 array, they don't fit into the 7000 model. You need totally different disks! Check the quickspec for the correct choice of disks.

This is a 10000 disk chassis with magazines (4 disks each).

FC (Fast Class) are faster and smaller.  NL (Nearline) are slower and bigger.

And you would typically use SSD or FC for databases and NL for archiving.

FC drives are 'faster' 10Krpm and 15Krpm SAS drives, always SFF( Small Form Factor 2.5") up to 1.8TB

NL drives are 'slower' 7.2Krpm SAS drives, exist in SFF and LFF (Large Form Factor 3.5") sizes up to 6TB

I have question on 3PAR P10000 (V800), can I use only one SSD magzine, I already have the drives magzines in each drive chasis.

Do I need to balance the Drive Magazines (adding the drive magazine for each drive chasis) or I can just use it in one of the drive chasis, since SSD is expensive

Right now have 4 drive Chasis with 4 drive magazines each. If I buy one SSD DRIVE MAGAZINE & add to one of the drive CHASIS is fine or I need to buy 4 drive Magazines.

Sorry I am adding my question here, since I saw the thread started with P10000.It will be helpful to know the correct onfiguration supported to add SSD drive magazine
