HP 3PAR Virtual Service Processor

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my VSP which is running on vmware, in fact the VSP VM lose connection to HP 3PAR, because the name of its two interface card has been changed, I mean the eth0 become eth2 and the eth1 become eth3, and to changed you must edit the /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules which is readonly file, and to change the readonly file you must be a sudoer user, the problem is that i don't have the root password or any sudoer user, so I hope that you give me an ansewer that can resolv this problems

Thank you.

Re: HP 3PAR Virtual Service Processor

Only a change on the vmware host may cause this. Maybe you can revert the changes on the host.

If not, IMHO the best solution is to re-deploy the VSP as a replacement system.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HP 3PAR Virtual Service Processor

Hi amsteen,

Well, you are connected with a simple SP user,  you need to connect with root user in order to change names of the interfaces.
