Hi
The situation is that all the Service Processor passwords have been changed, and the passwords database corrupted (so all passwords have been lost!!)
What is the procedure to reset the 3parcust user password for the Service Processor?
TIA

Re: How to reset the 3par Service Processor password?
If there is something corrupted for any reason, consider to re-image the SP:
In case of doubt ask hpe support.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: How to reset the 3par Service Processor password?
What did you mean by "corrupted"?
Re-Image is quite simple - boot the SP from the recovery ISO and select the approriate option for "replacement".
As said, if in doubt ask hpe support.
"recover" is not that simple, because you would need an account with higher privileges.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: How to reset the 3par Service Processor password?
Ahh, sorry for the confusion ... forget the bit about "corruption" - I was referring to our password database which holds all our enterprise passwords had become corrupt.
As for the 3parcust password on the SP, we only need to reset it to something new, we don't need to recover the old password.
Hence I was hoping there was a simple way to reset the password without knowing any other passwords, and without knowing the old password for 3parcust.

If it would be that easy it would be very unsafe ...
Call HPE support, they can help you.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: How to reset the 3par Service Processor password?
Yes I agree about the security issues. I was thinking there might be a procedure available which required physical/direct access to the SP (so that security would be retained).
Thanks anyway.

Solution>> a procedure available which required physical/direct access to the SP
This could be re-image.
However, HPE support might have other and faster options ...
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
