Impact of Backing up Snapshot

Hello,

Does anyone know the impact of backing up a snapshot via Netbackup? Let's say we have a clone nonprod_sid and it is running on prod_sid's snapshot. Will it have a performance effect on prod_sid if I back up non_prod_sid via Netbackup?

Hello,

If I understand correctly, You have a prod volume 'prod_sid'. There is a snapshot of the volume. From the snapshot, you have restored the volume called 'non_prod_sid'. Now you are planning to backup 'non_prod_sid' through Netbackup.

In this scenario, it shouldn't cause any performance issue to the original volume 'prod_sid'.

Is it the same as mounting the prod_sid snapshot onto the host of nonprod_sid?

Hi,

'non_prod_sid' acts as separate volume. That will not impact the performance of the original volume 'prod_sid'.
