Ip address not pingable after OOTB procedure.

I have assigned a IP address on node1, but after assigning the ip my cluster is still not pingable.
Please let me know what might have gone wrong.

How did you assigned the IP address on the node?

Can you connect a simple switch, no management or other features, put just 3 cables in it - 2 from 3PAR and one from a laptop, configure the IP address of the laptop and ping the storage?
