I create a VFS with full FPG space and shared the VFS by NFS share.
Now is it possible to use SMB/CIFS and NFS in same 3par VFS ?
Storage: 3PAR 8450

Hello @Mortuza,
Yes. You can use SMB/CIFS and NFS on the same VFS.

Hi @sbhat09
Thanks for your comment.
If I do so, is there any precaution sould I take ?
Becouse my VFS already shared by NFS file system to Linux host.
Is the any documentaion for this ? I didn't find any in google.

SolutionThe functionaltiy you are looking for is called "cross-protocol".
Full shared access came with FilePersona 1.5.
Prior to that version you could have only one protocol-type with read-write and all the others with read-only access.
If you google for "cross-protocol" and "File Persona" then you may get old documents.
The following link, which is supposed to be the correct one, is currently stale. I will try to find the correct one.
Title of the document is: "Setup guide for cross-protocol configuration using SMB, NFS, FTP, and HTTP protocols
HPE 3PAR OS 3.3.1 MU2"
https://h20195.www2.hpe.com/v2/getdocument.aspx?docname=a00069739enw
The setup can become complex especially if you want to share UID and GID (rfc2307)
I will try to find the document for you and post it here.
Hope that helps.
