Issue with 3PAR AO
I have a customer facing some issues with AO after OS upgrade last week. The FC tier utilization gradually increased. But he wants SSD utilization to be higher for better performance.
Before OS upgrade the utilization was FC-71%, SSD 68%. Currently FC-86%, SSD-46%. How the OS upgrade cause this issue? How can he increase SSD utilization as it was before?

Re: Issue with 3PAR AO
I don't think OS upgrade responsible for this behavior but if there was any bug it may be possible. However you can verify AO mode configured with the help of showaocfg command. If you find its configured as Balanced then you can change that to Performance. Your SSD utilization should increase in next AO cycle.
Hope this helps!

Re: Issue with 3PAR AO
Hello,
There are no such changes OS upgrade will cause on AO data distribution. The data utilization of data region would have changed over the last week due to which AO has categorized more data as cold data lesser data as hot data.
If the requirement is 'higher utilization of SSD tier', please change the mode to 'performance' from cost/balanced. That will move more data to SSD tier. Observe it for 2-3 days and let me know.
