SAN HP3PAR FC ports don't want to come UP
Hi all,
I'm a begginer with HP 3PAR Storeserv 7200HP3PAR. I'm struggling to get FFC connectivity between my SAN and the next hop router. From the router point of view, everything is correclty configured, but on my side I see error when I type:
X_SAN cli% showalert
Id : 22
State : New
Message Code: 0x02d00fa
Time : 2014-03-10 22:22:00 EDT
Severity : Major
Type : Component state change
Message : Cage 0, Interface Card 1 Failed (Interface Card Unrecoverable)
Id : 23

Time : 2014-03-10 22:22:00 EDT

Message : Cage 0, Interface Card 0 Failed (Interface Card Unrecoverable)
Do you have an idea of what can cause that ? Or maybee other CLI to allow me to troubleshoot ?
Many thanks!
Sergio

I'm not sure how the switch side has any connection to your cage errors?
Unless the problem has since gone away?
cage0 talks to these ports:
0 cage0 1:0:1 0 0:0:1 0 8 32-33 320e 320e DCN1 n/a
0:0:1 initiator ready 50002ACFF700857D 50002AC00100857D disk SAS DP-1 - -
1:0:1 initiator ready 50002ACFF700857D 50002AC10100857D disk SAS DP-1 - -
0:0:1 initiator cage0 0 valid point_to_point 6Gbps n/a prohibited
1:0:1 initiator cage0 0 valid point_to_point 6Gbps n/a prohibited
These are the ports that should talk to your switch/host:
0:1:1 target ready 2FF70002AC00857D 20110002AC00857D host FC - 1:1:1 none
0:1:2 target ready 2FF70002AC00857D 20120002AC00857D free FC - 1:1:2 none
1:1:1 target ready 2FF70002AC00857D 21110002AC00857D free FC - 0:1:1 none
1:1:2 target ready 2FF70002AC00857D 21120002AC00857D host FC - 0:1:2 none
0:1:1 target --- - --- fabric 8Gbps 3 allowed
0:1:2 target --- - --- fabric 8Gbps 3 allowed
1:1:1 target --- - --- fabric 8Gbps 3 allowed
1:1:2 target --- - --- fabric 8Gbps 3 allowed

Re: SAN HP3PAR FC ports don't want to come UP
When did you install the 3PAR? Was it on 03/10/2014? Looks like controller had issues communicating to cage0 (local to controllers) but then recovered. showcage shows it's up and ok hence I will ignore this error (if it was during OOTB procedure) and will watch if it comes back.
