Storeserv 8000 dedup and compression with thick provisioning virtual volumes

I have a Storeserv 8400 need to configure dedup and compression. Previous 7000 series need the virtual volumes to be in thin provisioning for dedup. Due to my company policy, they only allow thick provisioning virtual volumes.

From this url https://d8tadude.com/2017/02/21/3par-dedupe-compression/

It seems 8000 series able to perform dedup and compression with thick provisioning. Have anyone tried dedup and compression with thick provisioning?

Dedup and I assume compression, only work with thin provisioning.

You can only use dedupe and/or compression on thin volumes on SSD tiers. You should probably ask what is the reason for thick provision requirements and whether that requirement has taken into account modern storage technology capabilities like 3PAR.
