Vasa migration has failed after 3par OS upgrade

Hi, Upgraded 3par 8200 to os-3.3.2.135GA and since upgrade vasa provider is erroring with provider migration has failed due to certificate mode migration.

Hello @jeffro_05 ! 
This appears to be a 3PAR OS upgrade issue,
usually,  stopvasa and startvasa should fix the issue, 
If not, remove the VASA certificate and recreate it again

command
createcert vasa –selfsigned –CN (name of 3par) –SAN (IP Address)

should the issue persists, Trigger an Insplore and log a case with HPE support as further troubleshooting might be required.

Pelase Note: it would be best advised to engage HPE support for these activities.

How would this affect powered on VM's living on the datastores in the storage containers provided by VASA? Would we have to migrate all VM's out of the storage container to regular (non-VASA) VVols every time we upgrade to prevent an interruption in service?

This is not the regular issue observed with every upgrade. There must be some other issue that is causing disconnections or an exceptional case. If you can provide relevant issue timeline details and logs to HPE support, they would help you to find the root cause.
