Re: admitpd Error: The system is not licensed for sufficient disks to admit these disks

Hello @qingchuan,

Try to dismiss the failed PDs with the commands - dismisspd 9 and dismisspd 23

Then remove the failed PDs and use the same slots for new PDs. Admit the PDs with the commands:

admitpd (to admit all the new PDs at once) or admitpd 5000CCA04389E576 and then, admitpd 5000CCA0573B846T

Re: admitpd Error: The system is not licensed for sufficient disks to admit these disks

Hello @qingchuan,

'dismisspd 9' and 'dismisspd 23' are two different commands. Please run them separately.

Please check the servicemag status again and share the output. If you are still facing the issue, I will help you with the command to remove spare chunklets.

Re: admitpd Error: The system is not licensed for sufficient disks to admit these disks

Hello @qingchuan,

Remove the failed disks. Insert the new disks.

Insert the new disks.

Then run the command 'admitpd' (to admit all the new PDs at once) or 'admitpd <WWN>' command to admit the PDs one by one using their WWNs.

Then check the servicemag status.

Re: admitpd Error: The system is not licensed for sufficient disks to admit these disks

Hello @qingchuan

Your failed PD definitions are still not removed. You got to go one step back.

Remove the new PDs. Insert the failed PDs back to their original slots. As I told in my first post today, you have to remove the spare chunklets out of failed PDs. using the command 'removespare -pos 0:9:0:a' and then 'removespare -pos 1:3:0:a'

Note: before running this command ensure that failed PDs are in the same position (0:9:0 and 1:3:0). Other you may end up removing the spares of wrong disks.

After that, dismiss the PDs using the commands 'dismisspd 9' and 'dismisspd 23'

Re: admitpd Error: The system is not licensed for sufficient disks to admit these disks

Hello @qingchuan,

'removespare' had been successful. But 'dismisspd' failed with an error. So, you may not proceed to 'admitpd'.

To understand more about the error on 'dismisspd', please share the command output for 'showpdch 9' and 'showpdch 23'
