Hello,
We are planning of DR solution using 3PAR SLD(Synchronous Long Distance) configration.
I think that we can kepp the restriction of SLD,,,
systen#1, #2 at site A, systen#3 at site B,
Between #1 and #2 using RCFC “Synchronous Mode”
Between #1 and #3 using RCIP “Asynchronous Periodic Mode”
Betwettn #2 and #3 have an connection as standby link.
but, they usually stop remote copy except backup time during nights.
When the time of backup only, it is executed command startrcopy as the time of stoping backup, stoprcopy.
We have the rectriction time for executing 3par remotecopy considering our customer's application.
Is That the right way for product support ?
I am worryed in particular remotecopy status is usually stopped.
regargs,
Solved! Go to Solution.

Re: remote copy SLD configration
No, systems 1 and 2 are synchronous. The Group should always be running.

Re: remote copy SLD configration
Hello, smith
Thank you for your reply.
We just want to do remotecopy from #1 to #2,#3 as same data.
Otherwise, refering manual, we can look the configration of remotecopy for copying for a data to two storage systems is only SLD configration.
When we started to discussion of DR site include site B and #3 using SLD configration, it is decided to limit backup time between #1 and #2 as only eight hours par day.
Must we decide to change of the time for remotecopy(always sync) ?
regards,

Re: remote copy SLD configration
SLD is to have systems 1 and 2 always in sync. System 3 can have its asynch period adjusted to allow for bandwidth limitations between 1 and 3.
Being a synchronous link, the latency from 1 to 2 can be no more than 2.6 ms. And of course, the same for coming back.

Re: remote copy SLD configration
Thank you, Smith.
This is the final question of this topic.
So, is it the only way to send volumes from one 3par to two 3pars using remotecopy SLD configration ?
I have recognized remotecopy configration is the three way, 1 to 1, n to n, SLD.
If you know we can adopt another configration, let me know, please.
