100Base-T (J3515) on B10.20

I need a driver for 10.20 for an HP J3515 100-BaseT card. I have seen references to a patch to provide this (PHNE_15414) but can't find the patch.

Can anyone let me know how to install the btlan4 driver on 10.20?

(google just laughs at PHNE_15414.)

I did find PHNE_22216 under archived patches:

Where do you access archived patches?

hi doug,

the drivers are on the later application cd's no 1 for 10.20. look for the description as hsc 100bt or possibly as the number J3620AA/BA as the software

also achived patches are also in the patch database located

I found this one as well,

Sorry, I didn't want to add the link since they hang firefox. I could have made the links unclickable.

If getting the DART CD's is an issue, btlan4 is also part of the Core OS on 11.0, and the merged "btlan" driver which drives the same hardware along with the other 2114X-based 100BTs is part of the Core OS on 11.11 (aka 11iv1)

I have found and downloaded PHNE_22216.

The instructions work right up to the point in swinstall where it tells me that this is a patch to a driver which is not installed.

I have no media, can the driver be downloaded?

Re: 100Base-T (J3515) on B10.20

Back then (and I think today even but could be wrong) drivers were either in the Core OS, or were on DARTs. So, you either have to find a suitable 10.20 DART CD set somewhere, or upgrade to either 11.0 or 11.11 where that driver is part of the Core OS.

Re: 100Base-T (J3515) on B10.20

The problem is that I'm locked into this version of OS and hardware. The machine never had 100BT setup and now it's essential. I need to find a 10.20 Dart disk or a downloadable driver...

There must be an archive of 10.20 drivers somewhere...

Re: 100Base-T (J3515) on B10.20

Specifically which machine is this (model and CPU frequency)? And when you say 100BT is essential - is that simply for connectivity, or is "link-rate" networking over 100BT expected/required? It is really stretching my DIMM memory, but depending on the system it may or may not actually be able to achieve full 100BT speeds.

Knowing the current CPU utilization would be very helpful here - in broad handwaving terms, it takes just as many CPU cycles to send a KB of data over a 100BT link as it does over 10BT, so the quanity of idle CPU present on the system will go a long way towards estimating how much faster things might be.
