Hi,
I've just done a clean install of 11i on a D380/s. How long should I expect a boot to take on this system, its taking 35 minutes to get to a login prompt. The load is also pretty high on it even without having loaded any applications in addition to the primary install. I'm just wondering whether I should avoid loading 11i and go back to 11.00?

Hi,
Check if NFS/NIS is enabled. Configure it properly. Disable if not required. If glanseplus is installed check which process is taking space in memory. check /etc/rc.log for failures of starting daemons. For smooth running 11i, 256 MB of Memory is required. Pls put the console output with ur reply where U feel it is taking long time as compared to earlier.

Re: 11i on a D380/2 - boot speed? Load?
Ahh yes, silly me - I've disabled NFS and NIS and it now boots quite quickly. Yes I'm a little low on memory but have plans to upgrade next week. Thanks for your quick response!
