SolutionWell, the tree only hits on switches, hubs and bridges. Doesn't seem to span down to FC adapters.
But all the docs on docs.hp.com I can find on the A6685A don't list any *specific* switch/device supported list.
Just basically spells out that it's an SC Duplex connection and that

he A6685A HSC Tachlite adapter is a single-port adapter in a 3x5 form factor that operates at 1 Gb speed in a 2x HSC slot. It can use a 5.0 VDC or universal slot. This adapter uses the Tachyon TL Fibre Channel chip and is an upgrade from the current A3404A HSC Tachyon Adapter. Some of the features include:
*
Non-Field-Replaceable GBIC receptacle
*
Support for arbitrated private loop topology
*
Support for fabric topology
*
Support for all current legacy Fibre Channel devices
\endquote
It's been my experience that the only incompatibilities I've ever seen is arbitrated loop *only* FC adapters (like the 3404) trying to run in a switched fabric env.
I think you're probably safe running this to near any switch or any GBIC for that matter.

Jeff

Re: 9000/K Class HSC A6685A HBA Tachlite Fiber Channel adapter
For crying out loud, that word is used *liberally* in the bible of all places.
Is the FCC monitoring this place or what?!?!?

Re: 9000/K Class HSC A6685A HBA Tachlite Fiber Channel adapter
Yes you are out of luck, HP has removed that information from ITRC. I am trying to find internally what info we can provide you or if there is other ways for you to get it.
Is there one particular switch or device you are looking at?

Re: 9000/K Class HSC A6685A HBA Tachlite Fiber Channel adapter
I have used these HBAs on Brocade 2800, 3800 and 3900 switches, as well as on Cisco MDS 9509s.
I have non-HP storage and my vendor's support matrix lists compatability down to the firmware levels.

Unluckily, I was told that for now, you need to contact HP to get your answer.

Actually, one last thing: there is an embryo of support matrix at:
http://www.hp.com/products1/serverconnectivity/support_matrices.html
Not too many details in there...
But you may bookmark this iste to get there in the future (matrix under Related Information):
