A question about Cell board
I've configured an rp7410 system with two cell boards inserted into it,each of which has been installed with two Processors and a quard of memories and there is one MP card installed on it.
Now I connect AC power and log into MP system
and press "CO" it only display one Partition.
So how can I do now?
Can you give me any advice?
Thx in advance

Re: A question about Cell board
bring it up as Npar. means interrupt at BCH
BCH:>boot pri
Iterrupt at ISL (y/n): Y
ISL:> hpux
Once it comes up then add it to vpar.
vparmodify -p vpar1 -m cpu::min:max
where min: min. no. of cpu's
max: max no. of cpu's
You can add CPU's online means while vpar is running.

Re: A question about Cell board
What you want is not nPar, you want to have two physiscal partitions. I'm not sure you can setup cell boards yourself. It seems that your server is not properly setup. I have several rp7410 servers, although we only use partition 0, I could see both partitions from MP and it is configured by HP technician.

Yang

Re: A question about Cell board
http://docs.hp.com/en/5991-1247/5991-1247.pdf
Secondly,, have you checjed whether the 2nd cell board is available to create an Npar, or is it already in use in the exisiting Npar, by loggining into the MP, using the CM command, and then using CP to see cell/partition assignments.
If the second cell board is already assigned, you will first have to remove it from Npar0 and only then can it be used to create a new Npar.
Next, verify you have ALL of the required hardware to create another Npar, including th eI/O chassis and cards in it, as well as the Core I/O and MP for the second Npar.
If not, you will need to purchase furthr hardware.
Again, I recommend you read the manual mentioned above
