A500 Fast Ethernet

My A-500/44 machine is frequently getting out of the network.

It had been default configured to 100FD auto_on and the switch on the other end had the same config.
Things worked fine.
I moved the server to some other location.
Here the machine gets off the network frequently.

Then I hard set 100FD auto_off on both the sides(switch (Catalyst 4000) and the server).Still the problem existed.

Replaced cables

I had then connected to a different switch (2900 series)with the same hard coded settings which resulted in the same frequent timeouts.

Now I have modified to 100FD auto_on on the server with the 2900 switch and now things are going fine.

ioscan shows

Class I H/W Path Driver S/W State H/W Type Description
===================================================================
lan 0 0/0/0/0 btlan3 CLAIMED INTERFACE PCI Ethernet (10110019)
/dev/diag/lan0 /dev/ether0 /dev/lan0

Am I running on the right driver.

Is there any changes to be made?
How can I isolate if it is a network card problem?

Thanks
