A6144B 750mhz dip switch settings

Anybody out there know the proc switch setting for an A6144B L3000?? Or know where I can find them?? I am getting a warning at the BCH saying incompatible mix of processors when I try to put A6805A's into my A6144B. The settings I have are 1,4,5,7 on. They are also doing the same thing in my A6797B. Any help would be much appreciated!!

Hi Dane,

I found this document regarding CPU upgrade:

http://docs.hp.com/en/A5191-96022/ch01s02.html

But your config seems to be ok. PDC up to date? (always important) - should be 44.12.
Do all procs have the same part number? What is ISL> IN PR is telling you?

Re: A6144B 750mhz dip switch settings

Hi Torsten, my PDC is 42.19 which is what they say I need. Maybe that is the problem?? When I do an IN PR it shows all procs at 750mhz and ACTIVE but then shows me that warning at the bottom. Are my dipswitches set right?? Do you know where I can get the 44.12 firmware?? All the procs are A6805-04001. Thanks for the quick reply by the way.

Re: A6144B 750mhz dip switch settings

hi,

just checked my notes on the switches and what you have is correct for the 750mhz processors.
it should be exactly the same for the RP5430 aswell as they share the same system board.

what does the state of the processors say in the gsp?
also are they the same c rev version at pdc?

I'm still getting the same errors after updating PDC firmware to 44.12. Any Ideas??

Re: A6144B 750mhz dip switch settings

Hi Andrew,

GSP ss command says 0 & 2 installed and configured.
IN PR says 0 Active 2 Idle
Coprocessor info says both functional
Cache info says 750KB 1.5MB

Is that what you were looking for??

Re: A6144B 750mhz dip switch settings

Dane,
Check the part number on the cpus, should be A6805-69001 OR A6805-69002. The difference is the cache size, 1.5mb vs. 2.5mb.

Good Luck - Tim

Re: A6144B 750mhz dip switch settings

Dane, I'm fighting a migrane, so pardon me for not expanding on my last post. I know you stated that the cpus are A6805-04001, you probably got that from the GSP. Open the box and look at the little labels on the cpus, make sure they match.

If so, you may wish to remove one cpu at a time and try booting it to single user, just to verify that they will in fact boot. Try swapping the positioning, take the cpu from slot two and put it in zero, and vice-versa.

Could you cut and paste the message that you are getting, please?

Tim
