Re: A6144B 750mhz dip switch settings
I would suggest to bring the firmware to a current version first. You can find the files in Andrew's posting. We'll see what happens after that.
BTW, you can't update that Crevision, it's the hardware layout of the chip itself.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: A6144B 750mhz dip switch settings
Do you have any idea why the Cversion 2.2's are not working and the 2.3's are? Should the 2.2's work on this system? Do you know the differences between Cversions 2.2 & 2.3? Any more help would be much appreciated!!

Re: A6144B 750mhz dip switch settings
my suggestion is to open a call at your hp response centre. Let them investigate this problem. This is a faster way to solve your problem.
Please keep us posted and good luck!
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: A6144B 750mhz dip switch settings
Here is some info cut from HP Docs., just to verify what you've been told here already.
The 750MHz rp5470 (L3000B) model string is: 9000/800/L3000-7x
A6805A | A6805-04001 | A6805-69001 |rp5430/5470 750MHz Proc.
A6805B |*A6805-04002 |*A6805-69002 |rp5430/5470 750MHz Proc.
*It is possible to mix rev A (A6805A) and rev B (A6805B) 750MHz CPU's in the same system if PDC greater than 42.06 is installed.
(same doc, different location)
If required, it is OK to mix rev A and rev B
750MHz CPU's in the same system if PDC greater than 42.06 is installed.
I have not found anything that mentions the Crevision numbering. But going by the product numbers you have given, A6805A is Crevision 2.2 and A6805B is Crevision 2.3.
Everything I have seen says that these two processor models should play well together. I can't offer an explanation for the symptoms that you are seeing. I will have to concur with Torsten in his last posting, call 1-800-633-3600 and start a hardware call.
Please post here if you get a resolution, knowledge is good!
Good Luck - Tim
