A7025A

Hi,

We have a customer over seas and they have an RP7420. Below is what error they get. They have 2 other of these machines and they are working fine. Any help is appreciated.

When the power is applied to the system it comes up and the power up self test reports that all modules are OK.

However when you press the power switch in front it fails to power up the modules with an error of insufficient power. Upon investigation we discovered the following from the menus when we checked the power status of the cabinet:

POWER REQUIRED: 1123433443 VA
POWER AVAILABLE: 3600 VA
STATUS: INSUFFICIENT POWER

Thanks
Jon

Re: A7025A

Hi,

disconnect physically the server from power, wait at least 30s, and reconnect. If it will not resolve problem, you will need to upgrade to the lastest firmware.

Re: A7025A

I have seen a similar problem when all 4 plugs are connected and the system says "there is no power" - the solution was to replace the backplane (includes the power monitor).
Maybe the same solution applies here.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: A7025A

Thank you. The problem was the power on their end.
