SolutionHP only release drivers for it's own equipment.
So IF there's a driver available it would have to come from Adaptec.
So I looked it up on the adaptec.com site
http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/techspecs.jsp?sess=no&language=English+US&prodkey=ASC-29160&cat=%2fProduct%2fASC-29160#suppOS
and only SCO & Sun show up as supported UNIX OS's. In fact none of their "server class" HBAs showed HP-UX support. So I think you're out of luck here.
Rgds,
Jeff

Re: Adaptec 29160 on HP9000 L1000 server
Guess its impossible to recompile it for hp-ux because kernel headers and other needed files are not open, right?
Anyway, I will try to use the SCSI interface that is already installed on this system, but I will have to buy a VHC-SCSI to SCSI in order to interconnect my jamaica external storage.
Thank anyway.

Re: Adaptec 29160 on HP9000 L1000 server
Well you can install that HBA & then run
ioscan -fnC ext_bus
and see what status it shows. If it's CLAIMED your good to go, but if it's UNKNOWN, NO_HW or such then you're probably out of luck. But it won't hurt to try.

Jeff

Re: Adaptec 29160 on HP9000 L1000 server
The ioscan only shows the SCSI devices I already have installed and working. I used SAM once and found out that the Adaptec was showing as UNKOWN or UNCLAIMED.
Guess I am really out of luck.
Thanks anyway for all your support.
I really apreciated that.
