Additional Memory on RP7410 not showing
Hi All
Have just installed 2Gb of memory in an RP7410 - Problem is its not showing up under glance XSTM etc.
The system has a single cell board, two processors and already had 2Gb (512Mb Dimms) in slots 0A 0B 0C 0D. I added the extra memory into slots 1A 1B 1C and 1D as indicated on the cell board label.
As far as I am aware theres noting else that needs doing ?

Re: Additional Memory on RP7410 not showing
Hi Nick,
verify the memory from MP. Connect your serial terminal
or do telnet to LAN port on MP, and display the Information Menu
by entering command
in
next enter command
me
If the new installed memory is not showed, try to reseat the new
DIMMs. Also verify the slots, you've installed new DIMMs.
The slots should be 1A,1B,1C,1D.
Regards,
Zygmunt

Re: Additional Memory on RP7410 not showing
Hi ,
There are two general metod to get your physical memory
1. online
------------------------
1.1 use top
1.2 run sam and go to performance monitor/system properties/memory
1.2 start cstm
# cstm
cstm>map
get your memory device number left colon
example:
23 8 MEMORY
select memory for information
cstm> sel device 23
show info
cstm>il
exit from cstm
cstm > quit
2. Offline
------------------
Stop when server run and go to info menu
display memroy info using me
Are there any error when you boot your server ?
Did you monitor your server when it boot ?
I meen server self test ? using MP ?
If you can't see memory there is physical problem.
If you place memory in wrong way server will tell you when booting.

Re: Additional Memory on RP7410 not showing
Thanks for replies - After checking that all Dimms were in firmaly and the correct part number I decided to swap with the existing 2Gb module.
After boot up, all memory came online so must have been some garbage on the sockets.
